Survival narrative
“Survival of the spirit”

While breaking down the theme of 'surviving of the spirit' with a mind map, we found that the idea of sound/music resonated with us the most. We agreed that what is especially interesting for us is how important it is to keep the human spirit alive while being forced to function internally, even in environments that aren't really welcoming to our specific needs. As individuals, we must find our own unique ways to survive and navigate through the world, so that we remain true to ourselves and don't get heavily manipulated and affected by external pressures.

We feel that the modern world can often be overwhelming, with many of us struggling with stress overload and overstimulation, which can make our days less manageable. The topic of overstimulation particularly influenced us and the way we started approaching our project with this narrative. We agreed that overstimulation often arises from sounds and surroundings that we cannot escape. This issue motivated us to explore and create our project.

Our main focus became how to handle overstimulation in our everyday lives and how sound affects us, both negatively and positively (in terms of relaxation and comfort).
